Here we go!
Hi everybody! We met with our midwife Donna Miller last Thursday to interview her. We asked lots of questions and she was so helpful and informative. Our committment to her was to pray about it and call back once we knew she was the one God has in mind for the job. She was definitely, as my co-worker called her "everyone's favorite grandma". She was cool, calm, confident and she knows her God; that was most important to us! We're giving it until Monday to call back and schedule my first visit but we already have a strong peace about our decision that Donna should be a part of our birthing experience. My commitment to her was that I would eat right and keep my body healthy for the baby and I. She gave me a list of foods I should eat each day and I was none too happy to find out cantelope and "greens" were on there... UGH! Cantelope!! Top hated food in my book but maybe God will change my taste buds, at least for the pregnancy. Haha. If not, I'll have to change my mental state about it because, I'm having this baby natural and I am going to do the best I can to get my body ready... not because I'm fearful but because I'm WISE :) We also committed to read some of the books on her reading list, the more education we can get the calmer we will be when the baby comes. Read the first one already, 'Supernatural Childbirth', might be the best book I've ever read... EVER. It's such an awesome experience going through all of this with my hubby supporting me and just as excited as I am. Some mornings I accuse him of laziness and tell him to rise and shine, only to find out he was laying there taking a few minutes to pray for us. Love him for that! Maybe his (and my) prayers are the reason I'm feeling so great! Absolutely no morning sickness and really, I feel rested and better than I did before. Might have something to do with not as much junk going in my body too, haha. But whatever the case, Praise God for this joyous time -- we are enjoying every second of it!! Have a blessed day, I'm off to bathe my horse (aka Hitchers).
